Avoid Frustration By Choosing Curiosity

Text: “Leadership Tip: You’re not a cat, curiosity won’t kill you. It will help you and your team THRIVE”. Image: A woman with dark hair with her pointer finger on her face, making an inquisitive face.

Want to stop feeling so frustrated?

Choose curiosity over frustration.

Frustrated Leader: “Gah, WHY are they not doing it right?!”
Curious Leader: “Hmm, why are they not doing it right?”

Frustrated Leader: “WHY can’t they just UNDERSTAND?!”
Curious Leader: “Why don’t they understand?”

Frustrated Leader: “I don’t even know what they mean by that!”
Curious Leader: “I’m not sure what they mean by that, I’m going to try to figure it out.”

When faced with a dilemma, we have choices in how we respond.

Choosing curiosity – asking questions, gaining understanding, seeking the root of the symptoms you’re facing – gives us power, control, possibilities, and, often, solutions.

Choosing frustration gives us, well… frustration.
